"I Hear the Voices" by Courtney Bailey

I Hear the Voices
by Courtney Bailey

I hear the voices of dreamers
Crying out to the American sky
Hoping and praying for changes
And begging that America will never die
I hear their voices of anger
When they realize the dream is fading
And the moral condition of the country
Is becoming quite degrading
I hear the voices of babies
Unborn and never to be
Asking for the chance to live
And the world their eyes to see
I hear the voices of truth
Ringing out through the fog of sin
The small lantern in the church tower
A hope for life to begin
I hear the voices of evil
Thickening fog, snuffing out light
Waiting for prey to kill
And destroying all that is right
I hear the voices of Christians
Defending what they believe
Preserving our Constitution
And scorning Satan who deceives
I hear the voices of martyrs
Who have died to defend what is right
Keeping our liberties safe
And always willing to fight
I hear the voices of soldiers
Fighting for us to be free
Nobly leaving all behind
To protect our shining seas
I hear the voices of dictators
Surrounding our beautiful land
Threatening and shouting at us
With voices as loud as a band
I hear the voices of horror
As the planes come flying down
Swooping o’er our country
Demolishing cities and towns
I hear the voices of agony
From the people bound in chains
As they drag them across the floor
Making echoes of clanks and bangs
I hear the voices of weepers
Watching our nation fall
And the absolute destruction
Of everything and all
I hear the voices of angels
The Savior in the clouds
Those in Christ are rising up
And the trump of God sounds
I hear the voices of those forgotten
The ones left behind
The ones who must suffer the blow
Against all mankind
I hear the voices of demons
Prowling around the earth
Destroying, destructing everything
Leaving no chance for rebirth
I hear the voices of torment
As one by one humans die
The Anti-Christ is ruling
Darkness fills the sky
I hear the voices of glory
Riding out from Heaven
Jesus leading all His followers
And all the Christian brethren
I hear the voices of death
As the sharp two-edged sword
Destroys the armies who have gathered
They are defeated by one word
I hear the voices of triumph
Evil is done, eternity begins
All is finally set right
Forever and ever, Amen
